Academic Calendar

Hosted by the Registrar's Office, this calendar provides an official listing of all important dates during the current academic semester, including application and academic deadlines, holidays, and special events.

Winter Intersession is an asynchronous online, intensive three-week session that offers the same credit as traditional semester-length classes. What are the add/drop and withdrawal deadlines for the Winter Intersession? Please refer to the Academic Calendar webpage for these deadlines.

The spring and fall semesters will include the traditional 16-week term (Session 1) and two new eight-week sessions. Session F is the first eight weeks, and Session G is the second eight weeks.

March 4: Provost Johnson will email students announcing the new calendar. The academic calendar webpage for students will launch. March 11: The new academic calendar will be published, and students will receive their Summer and Fall 2024 registration appointments. March 28: Summer and Fall 2024 registration begins.

* The Dean's List is compiled in recognition of scholastic honors to degree-seeking undergraduate students who earn a minimum 3.4 GPA, complete a minimum of 12 credit hours, earn no grade less than “C” (2.0) and no “I,” “U,” “N,” “NC,” or “WF” grades during a term.

For every 100 applicants, 41 are admitted. This means the school is moderately selective. The school expects you to meet their requirements for GPA and SAT/ACT scores, but they're more flexible than other schools.

University policy allows students to enroll in a maximum of 17 credit hours per fall and spring term, and a maximum of 14 credit hours per summer term (14 credit hours for summer A, B, C, and D combined).

Length of Classes: Some online universities offer 6- to 8-week terms for classes. Others, such as UCF, follow typical 16-week semesters and 6-, 8- and 12-week summer-session offerings. As a guideline, each credit hour of class requires 3 credit hours of work outside of class time.

Students may withdraw from courses without a penalty until the date noted in the UCF Academic Calendar. The official date of withdrawal is the date the withdrawal is received by the University. Withdrawing from classes may have financial aid, NCAA eligibility, or International Visa consequences.
